William Kentridge |
Outlook,
allegedly the biggest art exhibition in Greece so far is
over. We distinguished the excellent video "Journey to
the Moon" by
William Kentridge.
Another work by Kentridghe may be seen in Synopsis III,
a modern art exhibition in Athens Music Chamber.

Lumen
This day and Age |
|
Vocalist
Pinkie Maclure and multi-instrumetalist John
Wills sign as
Lumen their latest CD release "This
Day and Age".
It is an incredible diving into a loopy avant-garde
musical experience featuring Pinkie's extraordinary
voice. [17/11/03] |

Alejandro Escovedo
FUND |
|
A serious
health problem with hepatitis C has kept
Alejandro Escovedo hospitalized.
As he is still in serious condition, a number of
friends and believers have started a fund to his benefit.
The Alejandro Fund
(www.alejandrofund.com)
has already organized concerts (like the one in New York
on August 16) with a few more dates (San
Francisco, September 2) and an impressive line-up of
respected participants.
Escovedo,
honors the Sixteen Haiku and Other Stories
international project,
participating in Haiku Four.
Please
accept our warmest wishes for a quick recovery, Alejandro!

Cat Power
YOU ARE FREE
|
|
The last Cat Power release titled "You
Are Free" is simply one of the nicest things in music
we recently heard.
Chan Marhsall's
songwriting and vocal qualities are outstanding, as you may
find out in an officially downloadable mp3 version of "I
Don't Blame You", first track in her album. Also,
catch her interview in the August 18, 2003 issue of New Yorker.
Sigmatropic are very honoured to
have her in the
"Sixteen
Haiku and Other Stories"
line-up.

Antonis Livieratos:
Mother Tongue
The latest release by enfant
terrible in the Greek musical scene and
Sigmatropic co-producer
Antonis Livieratos,
has stunned the music reviewers and has
attracted a lot of attention. Mother Tongue, basically
an instrumental album based on electronics and
hypnotic drum beats, is out from Hitch Hyke
Records. Very impressive. Not to be missed.
